Test checkout
Run a real purchase on your own store to confirm Hygge is wired up correctly end-to-end.
We ask every new merchant to complete a test purchase before going live. It's the fastest way to confirm three things at once: the script tag loaded, the Whop key works, and Shopify accepts the synced order.
How to run the test#
There's no special "test product" you have to create — just buy something off your own store the way a real buyer would.
- Open your storefront
From the test step in onboarding, click Open your store. We'll launch your live Shopify storefront in a new tab and start polling in the background for your first transaction.
- Add to cart and click Checkout
Pick the cheapest product you have, add it to cart, and hit Checkout.
You should see the Hygge drawer open — branded checkout, your cart total, email and card fields. If you see Shopify's native checkout instead, our script tag didn't load. Jump to Troubleshooting.
- Complete payment
Use a real card. The payment routes through your Whop, an order shows up in your Shopify admin tagged
hygge-checkout, and the test step on Hygge auto-advances to the celebration page within ~3 seconds. - Refund yourself
Open the order in Shopify admin and refund it from there. Whop receives the refund through Shopify's standard refund flow.
What you should see#

What to do with the test charge#
Refund it. From Shopify admin → the order → Refund. The refund flows back through Whop. You'll see a small Whop processor fee deducted (usually under $0.50) — that's the only real cost of the test.
